INSPIRE workshop at JRC

On 4th February 2014, a workshop on the INSPIRE Directive was held at the JRC Ispra premises in Italy.

The workshop was attended by the InGeoCloudS consortium members and members of the JRC dealing with INSPIRE.

During  the first part of the workshop, the InGeoCloudS project activities, associated with INSPIRE and LOD, were presented. 
More specifically the items presented included:
 
  • A general presentation of the InGeoCloudS platform.
  • Cloud technologies and their usage throughout the project.
  • Implementation of the INSPIRE network services.
  • Technical and user view of the integrated Linked Data technologies.
  • A consolidated feedback from National Data providers on using InGeoCloudS platform.

                                

During the second part the respective actions of the JRC were presented:
  • BIG data – Open Data – INSPIRE.
  • Digital Earth - Linked Open Data.
  • Open Data / JRC (PSI x Research data, MIDAS).
  • ARE3NA - current work (ISA Re-usable platform).

The presentations were followed by a constructive debate and exchange of experiences and views and possible action points for the nexxt weeks.
