AKKA Technologies sélectionné pour fournir la technologie « Cloud » aux instituts géologiques Européens.

AKKA Technologies has been chosen to provide “Cloud” technology to European geological institutes.
The AKKA Technologies Research Center (CRDTA) was chosen by the European Commission to develop the InGeoCloudS (INspired GEOdata CLOUD Services) project, in partnership with the BRGM (French Institute for Geological and Mining Research).
Co-financed by the European Commission, InGeoCloudS is an innovative and competitive system for environmental data production and sharing . The project was launched in response to the INSPIRE European Directive, which requires the relevant public authorities to make all their geographical data accessible on the Internet.
The AKKA engineering team is co-ordinating the project and is actively involved in the definition and implementation of the InGeoCloudS architecture and associated services. AKKA is also preparing methodology guides based on project feedbacks.
In practice, InGeoCloudS facilitates access for the general public and professional users to a large volume of geological data, in particular the study and prevention of natural disasters: seismic zones, landslip risks, groundwater conditions.
The reliability and flexibility of Cloud architectures enables providing of a high quality, robust and cost-effective service for the scientific community.
With its leading-edge expertise in Cloud computing and awareness of growth opportunities, AKKA Technologies is positioning itself as a natural supplier of Cloud technology and INSPIRE directive expert.
“Through this project, we are showing our ability to produce innovative and sustainable technology solutions, which encourage data sharing on an European scale,” explains Christèle Warwrzyniak, Head of Innovation at AKKA Technologies.
InGeoCloudS started in February 2012 and will run for 30 months. An initial pilot will be delivered in 2013.
